| FFA Winter News |

Here at Collinsville our winter has been quite busy. Just to fill everyone in on what we have been doing we put together a short winter update for you. * Before Christmas Break Collinsville FFA and Mr. Goodwins class held a food drive. Mr. Goodwins class won the contest and brought more canned goods than the FFA Members. Collectively, we gathered nearly 500 food items that were donated to help those less fortunate. * Collinsville FFA Members have been busy attending leadership conferences and public speaking workshops. The 8th grade FFA Members recently traveled to Stillwater, OK to attend a leadership conference where they learned how to step out of their comfort zones, networking, and how to use their leadership abilities. We also took several members to the Stand and Deliver workshop in Kellyville, OK to work on their public speaking abilities. * We are busy preparing for State FFA Degrees, State Proficiency Awards, and more. If you see Morgan West or Austin Roberts around town give them a pat on the back, they have been hard at work for weeks trying to make sure everything is in order for them to recieve their awards at this years State FFA Convention. * We are preparing for winter stock shows! If you need something to do or want to get out of the house here are the dates for our livestock shows. You can come out and set in a heated barn while supporting our members who show livestock. February 25th @ 10:30 AM * FFA Week is quickly approaching. We will be sharing information soon about our FFA Week events. Don't forget about our Alumni Basketball game and Pie Auction that will be February 25th! * Don't forget we sell Blue and Gold ALL YEAR! We have sausage, chicken, and bacon. |

| Here are a few pictures to post as well. One is from the stand and deliver workshop, students are listening to the keynote speaker as he shares advice on how to prepare for a public speaking event. The other is from the 8th grade leadership conference. The photo is showcasing one of the activities where students were given a roll of toilet paper and challenged to create a dress with it. Scott Johnson was the model, he and Jolena Dixon were on the winning team (there were 20 teams). Scott and Jolena were chosen for having the best design and presentation for the fashion show! |
