Bees "Meet" At The Park
This swarm of bees has chosen to congregate on a branch of a tree between the tennis courts and softball field at Collinsville City Park. City staff is keeping an eye on them and keeping unsuspecting folks away awaiting arrival of a beekeeper to take them to a new home. -- Ted 3:15pm Friday April 15, 2016
Note: I drove by a few hours later and the bees were gone ... hopefully to a safer permanent home. -- Ted

TULSA’S OFFICIAL EARTH DAY FESTIVAL CELEBRATES 18TH YEAR

The Metropolitan Environmental Trust (the M.e.t.) and presenting sponsors Francis Renewable Solutions, Miller Environmental Transfer, Covanta and OneGas are pleased to announce the 18th annual Enviro Expo to be held on Wednesday, April 20th in downtown Tulsa from 11:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on Main Street between 4th and 5th streets. This event is free and open to the public.

Enviro Expo showcases individuals, businesses, educators and non-profits that provide environmental services, products and information at local, regional and national levels. Visitors will find information on recycling, sustainability, alternative energy, water treatment, community programs, shifts and trends in the corporate culture and local educational efforts. There will be giveaways from Up with Trees and Grogg’s Green Barn in addition to demonstrations, live music from Randy Brumley and a live remote from RadioIDL.

Graham Brannin, Executive Director of the M.e.t. says, “This event, in particular, allows Tulsans the opportunity to understand how far reaching the sustainability and recycling movement has become. We see anywhere from three to five thousand visitors each time and anticipate having to expand by next year.” “It is THE event to attend for Earth Day in Tulsa and it just happens to be in our beautifully thriving downtown.”

This event is also made possible by the M.e.t.’s other sponsors; RadioIDL, Free the Night, Holly Frontier, PSO, Eco Green Mobile Detailing, PepsiCo Recycling, Interstate Batteries, Electronic Synergy Foundation, ORI Environmental, New Solutions, Up with Trees, Tulsa City/County Library and INCOG.

For interview opportunities with the M.e.t. or presenting sponsors, please contact Graham Brannin or Meg Sutherland.
