CARDINAL FOOTBALL -- Jr. High Update 9-25-15

The Grove Ridgerunners flew into Sallee Stadium Thursday night for a Metro Lakes Conference match-up. All three games were fun to watch. Each game displayed outstanding football skills being developed by each program.

The 7th grade Ridgerunners were too much to handle for the Cardinals. Grove’s depth of 47 players was overwhelming to the Cardinals. Football is a tough game. Grove wins 27-12. Cody Root injured his ankle. We wish him a speedy recovery.

The 8th grade contest was exciting to the last tick on the clock. Grove has an outstanding QB. The son of the head coach displayed great leadership during the contest and kept the Ridgerunners in the game. But in the end, the Cardinals passing attack, tough running game, and smash-mouth defense were too much for the Ridgerunners. Oh by the way, the Cardinals also have an outstanding QB.
Cardinals win 26-19. Brayden Burd and Zac Robbins suffered knee injuries during the contest. We wish both players a speedy recovery.

In the night cap contest Coach Jones said it all after the game, “you guys are fun to watch”. The Cardinals dominated every phase of the game and just out hit the Ridgerunners all night long. Cardinals win 23-0.

If you have not been to watch a JHI game this year you are missing out on all the fun and excitement of Jr. High Athletics. Come be a part of the Cardinal Nation see what Code Red Football is all about. You will not be disappointed.

Our next action will be next Thursday October 1 at Pryor. Games begin at 5.

Coach’m up
