Lost Opening Game To Carl Albert

Shawnee beat Carl Albert 10-0 in the finals for the 5A State Title.

Baseball Cardinals Headed To State
The Collinsville Baseball team had to win 2 in a row vs Pryor at Pryor to stamp their ticket to the State Tournament next week. Two 2 run homeruns by Brayden Varner, one in each game, and 6 gutty innings from sophomore Brannon Jordan in the second and the Cardinals came away with the sweep to win Regionals and secure their spot on the Class 5A State Bsbl Bracket next week in Yukon. Varner pitched most of the 1st game and hit a 2 run homer to help the Cardinals force the second winner take all game. Varner again went yard in the first inning with a runner on to give the Cards a early 2-0 lead. Brannon Jordan gave up just 2 runs and pitched out of trouble for six inning and allowed the Cardinals to bring in Hayden Wickman in the 7th to close out the win. In top of the 5 inning with the game tied 2-2 Cardinal Brett Erickson laced a bases loaded single down the right field line to score 2 and take a 4-2. The Cardinals got sweet revenge over Pryor after Pryor came to Collinsville last year and stole the Regional title. Its good to be a Cardinal. -- Jim Riley 5/8/2015

Regional Finals Update: Erickson singled with the based loaded. Cards lead 4-2 with two outs in top of 4th -- 4:19pm Fri -- Brannon Jordan has pitched the first 4 innings. -- 4:58pm Cards batting in the top of 7th with 4-2 lead. Jordan had pitched all 6 so far. -- JR -vs Pryor at Pryor
