Original Building Facade Revealed At Cribbet's
Butch & Joyce Cribbet (owners of Cribbet's True Value) are in the process of restoring the original facade of their two buildings on Main Street in Historic Downtown Collinsville. They got a big assist Sunday September 21, 2014 from Collinsville Downtown Inc. past and current board members (Brad Francis & Tim Desmond) to remove the decades old (1970's? vintage) panel covering. They will later get a financial assist with a CDI facade grant to reimburse a portion of their preservation / improvements.
2006
This March 1945 photo & business review in "The Collinsville News" (published by C.H. Wright) shows an earlier view of the same two buildings when the owners operated a "Farmers Market" downstairs and the Collinsville Masonic Lodge was in the upstairs portion of the taller east building. I don't know the exact year the buildings were built but see them in a 1911 photo. The buildings have housed many businesses over the year but one was the "Western Auto" store run by Roscoe Migliore for many years. Butch & Joyce Cribbett took over the "Otasco" (Oklahoma Tire and Supply Company) store in 1974 which later became True Value here. -- Ted Wright 9/24/2014
