Here is the flyer for the Education Night at the El Jalapeno Grill. Please remind people they will have to print out the paper (flyer) to present at the El Jalapeno grill in order for them to donate the 20 percent to the Collinsville Education Foundation. Thanks. -- Ron Evans 1/14/2014
CHS (& JrHi) Track Schedule
|This years Pie
Auction will be held on Tuesday March 4th, at 6:30pm in the
High School commons area. Last years auction was a huge success due to
the amazing parental and community support! A huge thanks goes to all
the parents and community members who continue to support the Collinsville
Track Program and all its athletes. We hope you can attend this years
auction and take home some wonderful baked goods while showing your school
Thanks and GO CARDS!,
Sorry to start the season posts with a bad note but...due to construction of new facilities this spring, we will not be able to host any home track meets this 2014 season. With that said we are excited about the seasons opportunities and the young student athletes we get to coach! 2014 schedules will be posted soon.
Observation: Due to pending construction at the High School (new gym, ...) and behind Herald/ECC (new elementary) there will not be a home track meet nor a home cross country meet in the coming year. The CHS track should be ready again when construction completes. It is not clear yet where a new cross country "path" might be. The new CHS tennis schedule shows no home matches. The next band concert will be held at the Claremore PAC. -- Ted Wright -- Jan. 20, 2014
New "Upper Elementary" Pre-Bid Meet
Potential contractors met with the architect (Stacy Group) and the construction managers (Brewer Construction) Thursday Jan. 23, 2014 for pre-bid information for the new "upper" elementary school building. The bids will be opened Feb. 6th (2pm) at the Education Service Center. The new school building will be west of the existing Herald Elementary & Early Childhood Center buildings and is planned for 4th and 5th graders. Construction is scheduled to begin in March 2014 and complete before July 2015. The elementary will have 21 classrooms, a cafeteria/commons area, and a gym.
It is still not determined if VVEC or the city will supply electricity to the new school facility.
The final design and bid process for improvements at the high school should be ready for a separate bid process in the next month or so.
I assume it has been in preparation for the new Dollar General Store, as there has been a flurry of utility work (above and below ground) on both sides of Highway 20. The work in the past few weeks is near the high school and Ridgelawn Cemetery. I'm also guessing the unscheduled phone outage at the high school Friday Jan. 17th might have resulted from some of this work. -- Ted
