Ron's Relics Welcomed By Chamber of Commerce |
The Collinsville Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony Friday Feb. 14, 2014 to welcome "Ron's Relics" as a new downtown Collinsville business. Ron and Barbara Rumsey are the owners. |
Note From
Susan Babbitt (before the ribbon cutting ceremony): They are opening a shop, Ron's Relics, on Main today. It would be great if we could have a large group at the cutting to welcome their business to Collinsville. Ron's Relics is located in the 700 block of Main right across the street from El Jalapeno Restaurant. Barbara has been my friend for years and a library volunteer since she moved to Collinsville. She and Ron are avid Harley riders, shop Collinsville, and support our events. I would appreciate it if you could be there today and give them a grand welcome. I know some of you will be working but if you can make it that would be great. Happy Valentine's Day!!! Susan Babbitt -- (2/14/2014) |

Patchworkers February Meeting |
Have Changed Future Meeting Time |
The Collinsville Patchworkers met February 11 at the Library, and welcomed 3 guests - and possible new members! Vickie Ewing (R) displayed a "Collinville Cardinal"- themed quilt she recently finished, and Rosie Vaught (R) showed off her marvelously scrappy quilt that was also newly completed.
Plans for the upcoming retreat were discussed, and Mary Woods presented a program that included patterns and ideas for future quilts.
Members voted to change the meeting time to 6:30 PM on the second Tuesday of each month, to better coincide with the Library's hours - and the next meeting will be March 11, 2014.

cvilleok.com Advertising Note |
Just an FYI that my coverage of Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting ceremonies is essentially free advertising that I donate to the Chamber. They set up the ribbon cutting and I attend as many as I can, but do occasionally miss one. I still sell advertising, although my time is so restricted I have not actively solicited advertising (door-to-door) on Main Street in a few years now. If you are interested in paid advertising on cvilleok.com (like Bart Schultheiss on the right of this page for example), email Ted Wright at wrightted@aol.com. Email (or in person) is a much more efficient way to discuss advertising than over the phone. -- Ted 2/19/2014 |
