2014 Great American Cleanup Oklahoma
Collinsville Middle School Honor Society Students will be assisting the the City of Collinsville in the “2014 Great American Cleanup Oklahoma”. This is a national registered event and we expect 60-70 7th and 8th grade students to attend. We will be meeting at 9 a.m. on April 26th at the Collinsville Chamber of Commerce and participating in several different cleanup opportunities. Each student will be placed on a team led by two adults and will be assigned a different cleanup project. Projects are; landscaping at Herald Elementary School, Collinsville Middle School cleanup and landscaping, cleanup at Collinsville City Park, Main Street beautification, landscaping and cleanup at the Education Service Center, and work at the Community Garden. Everyone will also be involved with trash pickup to and from their destination. Parent volunteers and NJHS sponsors will be team leaders. The City of Collinsville, Chamber of Commerce, and the National Junior Honor Society are purchasing items to be used during the project. This is a great way for students of Collinsville Middle School to show their dedication to service and enthusiasm to make Collinsville a more attractive place to live.
