During the Oklahoma State Fair in Oklahoma City Austin Roberts and Maddy Roberts placed sixth in their class of the Junior Doe show. Tulsa State Fair Collinsville FFA participated in numerous events at this years Tulsa State Fair. On Wednesday, October 2nd the following members competed in the Cattle Grading Competition; Halie Chambers, Dakota Fugate, Shelby Haynie, Dalton McCoy, Ashley Lankford, Kyler Mullen, and Broody Compton. The remainder of
the week was filled with livestock shows. On Thursday, October 3rd Morgan
West placed 10th in her class of junior wethers. Sunday, October 6th
Austin Roberts placed 5th with his doe, Maddy Roberts placed 8th with
her doe, and Corbin Bell placed 1st in class 8 and went on to place
as the Division II Champion as well as place 2nd in class 13. We also had several individuals enter items in the competitive exhibits. There is a laundry list of items that a person can enter ranging from handmade quilts, photos, artwork, even model cars and Legos have a division. Halie Chambers and Cori Ingram each entered the photography division with amazing pictures but unfortunately did not place as the competition is stiff and there are hundreds of photos to compete against. Dalton Self also entered an item. Dalton designed and made a birdhouse that placed 3rd in his division. -- Jennifer Hamlin (10/9/2013) |

CHS Academic Team Now Has 11 Wins and Only 1 Loss |
CHS Academic Team -- Monday (Oct. 7th) we suffered our first loss, to Oologah, in a very challenging round which included a tie in the first half which required three tie-breakers. However, we bounced back and went on to defeat Sperry and Locust Grove for a still outstanding record of 11 wins and 1 loss. Special thanks to Mrs. Lundgren and Mrs. Hollingsworth who served as our volunteer readers!
We play again this Thursday, at home at 4 p.m., against Caney Valley, Berryhill, and Olive as we prepare for the district tournament next week at Bishop Kelley.
