Please Stop!
Common sense says you should stop for pedestrians in a cross walk ... especially children, but it is also state law.
I noticed Middle School teacher Doug Saltsman helping these students cross Main Street safely at 14th Street last week before spring break began. I'm glad he does this, but wish it was not necessary. And he can't be there all day nor at every crosswalk. Too many times I have seen lines of cars and trucks zip past students waiting at the edge of crosswalks at either Main and Broadway intersections. And you should be be stopping for adults in crosswalks also. With our wider multi-lane Main Street pedestrian crossings are more of a challenge than in the past.
