I didn't hear the official name of the event but will call it the "FFA Animal Appreciation Day At ECC". I don't have names for the many ECC students and teachers that took turns viewing and petting the variety of animals on the soccer fields just north of the Early Childhood Center Friday morning. During this event, the pre-school ECC students had an Easter Egg Hunt nearby (check back later for those photos). The Llama was brought from "Bluestem Acres" in Claremore by Roger and Penny Thomas who have a grandchild in Collinsville schools. -- Ted Wright |
I don't have names for several other adults that provided animals for the event. -- Ted |

Farm
Day at Herald Elementary
Collinsville FFA recently hosted another Farm Day. On May 3, 2013 numerous FFA members gathered at Herald Elementary with a variety of animals and farm equipment. Even though the weather was a little colder than we hoped for the day was quite enjoyable. With everything from tractors, trailers, and trucks the students were able to see some of the equipment used and were even able to sit behind the wheel of a tractor, which brought many smiles and giggles. FFA members also brought ducks, goats, ponies, and a heifer as well as two roping dummies. Two of the FFA members held roping lessons and gave each student a chance to rope. Over the course of the day approximately 200 third grade students were able to experience these pieces of the agricultural life.
