CHS Summer Band Starts July 29th
Dear Collinsville Band Member,

We hope this letter finds you enjoying your summer work or play. It’s that time of the year again when we begin thinking about our summer band schedule (see below). The show music is exciting, and we look forward to creating the overall program together.

Regarding heat and outdoor activity, please make sure to get outside so you can acclimate yourself to the heat. Staying hydrated with water is of utmost importance, so start drinking a lot of it. Energy drinks and sodas will dehydrate you, which is not what we want. Please wear light clothing, and bring sunscreen. Jeans, flip-flops, and boots are not allowed. Bring a jug of water to keep yourself cool.

Please note that all guard members should be in contact with Lonnie for a more accurate schedule. Likewise, a more detailed percussion schedule will be given on the first day of Summer Band (July 29) in the band room at 7 a.m.

The success of this year’s show is in your hands. Those who win do not come by it accidentally. It is with purpose that success follows. We must all do our part individually to make our halftime show the best it can be. Please practice a little each day, stay hydrated, and come prepared for work, and fun!

Thank you all in advance for your dedication. If you have any questions, please feel free to call the band room at 918-371-5959.

Warmest regards,
Richard Newhart
Collinsville Band
