DRIVERS LICENSE REVOCATION FOR TRAFFIC OFFENSES
*******For Immediate Release*******

(Oklahoma City, OK.)
The Department of Public Safety is warning traffic law violators of new restrictions concerning traffic laws. House Bill 1507 which was signed by Governor Fallin on May 18th, 2011, took effect November 1st, 2011. It calls for a mandatory one year drivers license revocation for any licensee convicted of the following traffic offenses:

1. Reckless driving without regard to the safety of others.
2. Failure to stop for a school bus loading or unloading children.
3. Failure to obey a traffic control device (or stop for stop sign) when such failure results in great bodily injury to any other person.

DPS sends a 30 day notice of license revocation to the last known address of the licensee.

DPS spokesperson LT George Brown states, "It is imperative that licensees comply with Oklahoma title 47; section 6-116, (Notice of change of address) which states in part, whenever a licensee changes their residence address which is displayed on the license; within ten (10) days such person shall notify DPS in writing of the old and new mailing address; both the old and new residence address".

Wilson Elementary "Uniqueness"

The students at Wilson Elementary have started learning about our new character word for the month of January. We are learning about "uniqueness" which means the being the only one of a kind. Our quote about uniqueness comes from Dr. Seuss - "Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You."

Students from the first and second grade classrooms were chosen this week who represented the character trait of uniqueness:

First Grade Uniqueness Students
(l-r) Shane Peaney, Aidan Orcutt, Maddie McDonald, Natalie Ingram, Hayden Bennett, Skyler Parker, Damean Bacher, Christopher Blau, and Zoe Adams
Second Grade Uniqueness Students
(l-r) Dalton Kelley, Bryant Hamm, Mason Hurd, Keion Vandiver, Ava Miller, Alex Oder, Skyler Williams, Jaden Hunt, and Brittany Kirk

Hannah's Helping Hands, Inc. — Our Mission
We are a non-profit 501(c)3 organization providing financial assistance to families with children battling cancer. Many families need help with the most basic needs for their families during this fight for their child’s life. Some must leave work for months and even years to care for their sick child and the financial loss can be devastating. Our goal is to help as many families being treated locally as possible. We help with basic needs such as gas & food cards, groceries, wigs, utility payments, prescriptions, medical co-payments, rent/housing as well as other expenses. Our referrals come from doctors, nurses and staff at a local children’s hospital in Tulsa as well as our local communities.
