Employees at American Bank of Oklahoma were all smiles as they received the Traveling Witch trophy for having the best decorated business during the recent Just Treats – No Tricks Halloween Festival. Employees of the bank were all dressed as clowns and spent several days and nights transforming the lobby into a clown atmosphere. Congratulations to you all!

Public Hearing Monday Jan. 6, 2014 (Park/Pond/Grant)

As part of the regular Collinsville City Commission meet 5:30pm Monday Jan. 6th, public comments and questions will be welcomed on the pond being considered for City Park as well as the grant to potentially partially fund that project.

This information is based n the legal notice published in the Dec. 25, 2013 "Collinsville News" (which should also be repeated in the Jan. 1st issue to meet the public notification for the grant application). The actual agenda for that Jan. 6th meeting likely won't be posted until just few days ahead of the meeting / public hearing.

Mini Editorial: If you have opinions on a pond in City Park (cost/safety/design/impact on park/ etc.) this will likely be your last chance to voice them before the city commission makes their decision. Please take a look at the park board results (above) where many options were discussed before that board made it's recommendation. If you can't attend, I'd suggest contacting your commissioner before the meeting. That's likely the position I will be as the meeting overlaps the CHS Wrestling Dual/Cornation. There are only 3 home CHS Wrestling Duals this season and I've already missed most of the first one while presiding over the Park Board meet. -- Ted Wright 12/26/2013
