CARDINAL
FOOTBALL -- Jr. High Update 9-14-12 -vs- Bishop Kelley |
The Collinsville
7th, 8th, and 9th grade squads matched up this past Thursday night at
Sallee Field with the Tulsa Bishop Kelley Comets for a Metro Lakes Conference
contest. The 8th and 9th grade contests were a complete different story. The Cardinal 8th grade was much bigger, faster and stronger than the Comets tail. Led by a strong running game and ferocious defense the Cardinals blew out the Comets tail. Collinsville wins by a very sound margin 16-0. Cardinals improve to, 2-0 in conference play. No injuries were reported. The freshmen contest was an exciting game, if you are a Cardinal fan. Last week the 9th grade displayed TOTAL DOMINANCE over Claremore and Thursday night the Cardinals simply crushed the Comets into space dust and blew them away. The Cardinals led 35-0 at the end of three periods. Cards win 35-12. These Boys Of Fall are fun to watch. During the game, a scouting report suggests the Cardinals were in the BONE for a couple of plays. Cardinals improve to, 2-0 in conference play. No injuries were reported. This Thursday we
travel to Tahlequah. We play at the high school. The High School address
is 591 Pendleton St. The 7th grade play at 5:00. The 7th and 8th grade
will leave at 3:00 from the dressing room. The 9th grade will leave
at 4:45 from the dressing room. The 7th and 8th grade will return after
the 8th grade game. We should be back around 9:00. The 9th grade should
return around 11:00 |
Morgans
Is 2011 Combat Rescue Officer of the Year |
United States Air Force Captain Nick Morgans of Collinsville earned the title of the 2011 Combat Rescue Officer (C.R.O.) of the Year. Morgans was selected out of a group of approximately 200 other qualified C.R.O.s but his accomplishments gave him an advantage. While stationed at Moody Air Force Base in Georgia from January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2011, Captain Morgans deployed three times in support of overseas contingency operations. He was chosen to create the first-ever Guardian Angel squadron supporting Operation UNIFIED PROTECTOR where he led a 14-man squadron and provided over 1800 hours of personal recovery alert from both land and ship-based operating locations. During his second deployment, Captain Morgans led another group of men where he commanded 45 rescue missions, saving 19 lives and assisting 32 others. Captain Morgans received his award on July 26, 2012 at a ceremony held at the Hall of Heroes at US Pentagon in Washington, D.C. |
