CARDINAL FOOTBALL -- JR. HIGH UPDATE -- 9/7/2012
The quest for the Metro Lakes Conference Championship began this past Thursday night in Claremore. With over 100 degree temperatures on the battle field of the Zebra’s, the Collinsville Cardinals flew away with two of the three contests.

In the 7 th grade game, the Zebra offense was tough to stop. Plagued with poor field position the entire 1 st half, the Cardinal offense was hand cuffed. The Zebras gained momentum throughout the contest and trotted away with the victory. No injuries were reported.

Before the 8 th grade kicked-off, Cardinal football player Austin Yount developed a heat fatigue injury due to excessive temperatures on the field. Austin was rushed to the emergency room for medical care. Austin was released a short time later. We wish him a quick recovery. Back to the game……The Cardinals 8 th grade linemen proved to be just too physical on both sides of the ball. The LOS was controlled by the Cardinals all night. The running backs and receivers on the offensive side made great plays. The linebackers and “D” backs proved their skills were too much for the Zebras. Cardinals win 16-0. No injuries were reported during the game.

The final game of the night, the Cardinals 9 th grade team demonstrated TOTAL DOMINANCE. The Cardinals captured the Zebras in all phases of the game. Collinsville wins 35-0. No injuries were reported.

The Jr. High teams return to Sallee Field next Thursday, September 13 th. We will host the Tulsa Kelley Comets for a Metro Lakes Conference contest. Games begin at 5:00. Hope to see you. We will take Life Touch Pictures next Thursday before the game. Please fill out your packets before Thursday, even if you do not wish to purchase the pictures.

Remember, we do not bring 7 th and 8 th grade players back to the dressing room when we play at home. Also, we really appreciate our parents for having your sons at practice on time. Any question, stay in touch.

Coach’m up
