Jr. High Update -- CARDINAL FOOTBALL

October 24, 2012

The Collinsville Cardinal Jr. High Football teams flew into the Oologah Mustangs football arena Tuesday night for the “Highway 169 Bedlam” series. After all the dust cleared the Cardinals had roped and corralled the Mustangs on their own turf.

The 7th grade Cardinals fought a tough battle. Early in the contest it appeared both teams were evenly matched. Hard running and good tackling by the Cards made the 7th grade game a good contest to watch. The Mustangs got a couple of breaks late in the game and pulled way with a 15-6 win. No injuries were reported.

The 8th and 9th grade “Boys of Fall” were flawless. Both teams roped the Mustangs on the Football arena and proved without a doubt the Cardinals will dominate this series for years to come.

8th grade Cardinals win 14-8. No injuries were reported.

9th grade Cardinals win 23-21. No injuries were reported.

The 9th grade accomplishments for the past 3 years are 2010 Metro Lakes Conference Champs and the 2012 season finished as runner-up in the Metro Lakes Conference and an impressive record of 6&2 for the 2012 season.

The 8th grade accomplishments for the past 2 years are: Back to Back, Metro Lakes Conference Championships, undefeated in conference play and a record of 14&1.

The Metro Lakes Conference is composed of these 5A schools, Bishop Kelley, Claremore, Coweta, Pryor, Skiatook, Tahlequah and Collinsville. Collinsville has been a member for the past 3 years.

This brings our 2012 season to an end. It will be a memorable year in the lives of so many. There are so many to say Thank You too. Our coaches who coach these fine young players are, Kurt Boomer, Ben Davis, Damon Herald, Matt Davison, Sean Tesar, Bobby Sparks, Dale Harp, Jon Benham, Adam Hass, Mike McClure, Kevin Jones and the late Brian Phillips. Thank you to our administration. I don’t believe Terry Due, Lance West and Jim Riley missed a snap all year. A big thank you to our teachers, who prepare our athletes with the tools they need for tomorrows world. Thanks goes to Tony Reeder, Bob Pratt, the press box crew, Cheerleaders, Quarterback Club and the Media, Ted Wright and Bill Johnston. Hannah's Helping Hands, Inc. — Our Mission
We are a non-profit 501(c)3 organization providing financial assistance to families with children battling cancer. Many families need help with the most basic needs for their families during this fight for their child’s life. Some must leave work for months and even years to care for their sick child and the financial loss can be devastating. Our goal is to help as many families being treated locally as possible. We help with basic needs such as gas & food cards, groceries, wigs, utility payments, prescriptions, medical co-payments, rent/housing as well as other expenses. Our referrals come from doctors, nurses and staff at a local children’s hospital in Tulsa as well as our local communities.
