Founder’s Day Weekend
To Spotlight Area Merchants

Mark your calendar, grab your wallet and lace up your shopping shoes, Founder’s Day 2012 is being held Sat. and Sun. , Oct. 6 - 7 in Downtown Collinsville. Merchants are offering specials and sidewalk sales from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. As part of the Chamber’s support of Turn Collinsville Pink, area restaurants will have pink plate specials, the City is having a fill-the-boot campaign and shoppers will have the first opportunity to purchase the 2012 City of Hope t-shirt. Also in the works for Oct. 6 are activities and stories for children on the Plaza.

“Our goal this year was to highlight the area merchants. Homecoming is Friday night prior and we knew there were quite a few Classes having reunions,” said Susan Babbitt, event chairman. “We want those alumni, along with everyone else, to take some time and revisit downtown; to see with their own eyes how things have blossomed and to support their town. We have seen fabulous growth in the diversity of our shops and today you can find things in Collinsville that you can’t find anywhere else in Oklahoma. Our Founders would be proud.”

Founder’s Day weekend will culminate in an all - community hymn sing at 6 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 1301 W. Main. Everyone is invited to attend.
