CARDINAL FOOTBALL -- Jr. High Update -- 10/12/12

It’s Friday morning and it is time to reflect on our Skiatook games. Before I do though, I would like to pause a moment to remember the passing of Coach Brian Phillips. Thursday was Coach Phillips funeral and it will be a very memorable day for many of us. Coach will be missed, his contributions to us will always be remembered and his legacy will always be praised.

Our trip westward on Highway 20 was a bitter/sweet experience. Our 7th grade fought hard. The OL showed signs of improvement, and our backs ran hard, but the Bulldogs were too much for the Cardinals. Bulldogs win 33-7. No injuries were reported.

The 9th grade stage was set for the Metro Lakes Conference Championship. Two very good freshmen football teams took the field. Both teams played tough defense and moved the ball. The Bulldogs made a couple of big plays and got some calls their way. Bulldogs win 17-12. No injuries were reported.

“BACK TO BACK” Metro Lakes Conference Championships, undefeated two years in a row in conference play are the 2012 eighth grade football team. These “Boys of Fall” have given our school and community plenty to talk about the past two years. Congratulations 8th grade. Cardinals win 28-0. No injuries were reported.

There will no practice during fall break. After fall break we play Tuesday, October 23rd at Oologah. Games begin at 5:00. The 8th and 9th grade Oologah teams are rumored to be undefeated. Please come out and support our JHI teams as this is our final contest of the 2012 season.

Coach’m up

Tom Redding
