This view of the initial ground work for the new park trail is facing south just outside the right field fence of the softball field in City Park (Saturday).
I hesitate to use this drawing (which is the best I have for the trail) as the potential pond shown is not approved or funded and not part of this current trail project. The trail design is intended to be independent of the eventual pond (or no pond) decision. -- Ted Wright 11/17/2012
The initial on-site meeting with the city, architect, and contractor was held Tuesday Nov. 13th. One of the topics of that meeting was the condition of the existing draining pipes under the roadway near the tennis courts. Both end sections had shifted over the years and were now not correctly aligned with the center sections. The city will likly approve that additional corrective work before the new trail dirtwork and concrete near the north end of that pipe with an extention to raise the trail to an acceptable (ADA compliant) slope (rather than a big dip).
