Home Representative News |
Alberta Bonebrake shows off her "Sadler Teapots" apron, as Susan Pratt looks on. The name "Sadler" is part of Alberta's heritage, and she plans to use the apron as part of the Aprons Show, scheduled for June 24 at City Hall. This will be just one of the many events planned during the Smithsonian exhibit coming to the Library June 16. |
With shamrocks and
lots of "green" decorating the tables, the Home Representative
Club met March 14 at the Community Church. It was announced that High
School Sophomore Chandler Hunt will be attending the H.O.B.Y. seminar
later in the Spring. This legislative instructional workshop for sophomores
will be held at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond. Plans for the April 2 Senior Tea were discussed, and it was confirmed that Collinsville native Amy Pratt Green will be the speaker for the event, and catering services will be provided by Three Sisters Kitchen. The meeting concluded with members clustered around a Bartering Table - trying to work out a fair exchange amongst themselves for choice accessory items such as jewelry, linens, purses, etc.! |

Patchworkers News |
President Tonya Rosamond looks on as Janice Coke displays one of her favorite colorful quilts. Made from a "fat quarter stack," Janice added a few more fabrics from her own collection to give the color scheme just the right degree of brightness and "pop." |
Patchworker members
met March 13 at the Library, and welcomed guest Glenna Reese. Show and
Tell started off the meeting, and then members discussed various locations
around Oklahoma that might be perfect for a "quilters' retreat."
Lots of sewing, chatting, and eating are envisioned as part of a idyllic
weekend for quilters! Janice Coke shared patterns for "half square triangle" quilts, plus alternatives available for starch substitution on cotton fabrics. Door prizes were awarded, and colors of lavender and green were chosen for the April 10 "nickel exchange" (twelve 5" squares). |
