Collinsville Public Schools recently entered 5 teams in the Cherokee Nation Challenge Bowl. In the K-2 Division Wilson Elementary had two teams Collinsville Redbird 1 and 2. Collinsville Redbird 1 took third place. Sponsor and Teacher is Lenora McMullen, team members are Hannah Phillips, Taylor Rhoton, Kaden Rush, Cayden Fisher and Ainsley Burr. Mary Burr was sponsor and teacher for Redbird 2 and this team tried their best but did not place.
In the 6-8 Division the Collinsville Cardinals placed third. Teacher is Aline Phillips and team members are Matthew Downing, Quannee Tripp, Ryan Lecrone, Faith Sampley and Cathaline Johnson. Faith Melton was an alternate team member.
In the 3-5 Division two teams entered, Collinsville Wolves and Collinsville Eagles, Teachers are Nancy Thomas and Tonya Vaughn. These teams tried their best but did not place.
An award banquet will be held May 10, 2012 at the Hard Rock Hotel Conference Center where students that placed in the competition will be honored with a luncheon and gift cards. Congratulation to the teams for trying their best!
