5th Grade 70's Christmas Program
Just wanted to share a few photos of the 5th grade Christmas program. Mr. Stacy as shown in the photo below did an awesome job. He is so good with the kids! -- Lucindia Torres (12/20/2012)
“Playground of the Native Son” May Include Collinsville's Nick Rabbitt (CHS 2006)
A feature film and a docu-drama based on the Hominy Indians Football Team being filmed in the Pawhuska / Hominy area by director Celia Xavier.
In the 1920s, an all Indian team, the Hominy Indians Professional Football team had a 28 game winning streak. The film follows the team’s obstacles and victories from 1924 to 1936. The historic climax came when the Indians played the New York Giants, the World Champions at that time. The Hominy team had players from 14 different tribes during those years.
Note: I was at the elementary basketball games earlier this week when Nick Rabbit's Mom told me he was in the cast of this new documentary film. She said her son-in-law was also part of the filming recently. She said she would let me know when the film was to be released. -- Ted Wright 12-23-2012
