The first asphalt layer was applied Thursday to the closed section of 19th Street between Broadway and the new S-Curve intersection. -- Ted 4/19/2012
After being just a "half" intersection for months (open just to the east and north only) the intersection of 19th and Broadway was blocked off completely about a week ago as the old asphalt pavement was "chewed" away by this machinery (in front of E-Z Mart Friday April 13th).
New sidewalks and driveways were being poured between 14th & 15th Street on the south side of Main St. April 13th.
Missing section of new sidewalks are being formed up for Mo's Corner at 15th and Main which will be one of the crossings to the Middle School.
This new turn lane will be the west bound connect to the S-Curve from Broadway (a half block north of Broadway).
The new 19th Street intersection with the re-aligned S-Curve still needs additional work (& another asphalt lawer) before it will open to traffic and the covers removed from the new signal lights.
It will be nice to eventually have all the new lanes opened but will also be interesting to see how vehicles, bikes, skateboards and pedestrians interact. This view (with the bike at 17th) is facing towards downtown. -- Ted Wright 4/22/2012
