The Collinsville Crimson Cadet Band preformed thier program during pre-game (due to Nathan Hale's homecoming at half-time) which allowed more daylight than usual for my photos. That turned out to be an extra bonus for me as I was unable to attend the CCC performance at Saturday's Owasso Marching contest (where I normally get my first daytime photos of the band). -- Ted
T.J. Johnson scored the second touchdown of the evening for Collinsville with 1:08 left in the 3rd quarter. The 15 yard pass was from Zane McElroy. The drive stated at Collinsville's 39 with passes to Carter Rasmussen and Johnson providing most of the yardage.
This Ken Lor extra point turned out to be the game winner putting the Cardinals up 13-6 near the end of the 3rd quarter.
Aaron Kelly (#47) forced the Hale QB into a fumble and about a 15 yard loss early in the 4th quarter.
Tucker George (#56) with the stop for the Cardinal defense.
Hunter West (#33) with a 4th quarter carry for the Cardinals.
Hale's final drive started at their own 34 in the final minutes and they eventually scored on this 5 yard run with 50 seconds left in the game to close to 13-12.
Nathan Hale opted for a 2-point attempt for the win rather than akick for overtime. The gamble worked to the Cardinals favor as they stopped Hale 5 yards short on the extra point attempt. Hale's onside kick did not travel 10 yards but was covered by Collinsville anyway.
Taylor Captain will be crowned Homecoming Queen Oct. 14th when Collinsville hosts McAlester ... after an open week and a trip to Booker T. Washington.
