to those in need |
NEWS RELEASE Arubah Community Clinic Opens COLLINSVILLE Oct 11th, 2011. Plans for Arubah Community Clinic began in April of 2010 and construction efforts for the clinic are nearing completion. Arubah Community Clinic exists to provide free care with dignity to restore the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health of those uninsured in the Owasso and Collinsville area. The clinic, located at 1021 West Main Street, in Collinsville, Oklahoma, will be hosting an open house on November 7th from 6-8pm and will be begin accepting patients on November 10th , 2011. The clinics vision is to establish and operate a long-term Christ-centered health care organization, promoting and providing free access to quality comprehensive health care for those in need in our community. The initial hours of operation will be Mondays and Thursdays from 6 - 8p and the third Saturday of every month from 9 - noon. The clinic operates with walk-in appointments and will schedule follow-up appointments. The opening of Arubah Community Clinic will enable us to serve a significant need that is very real in our community, said Hilary Nicholson, Executive Director for Arubah Community Clinic. Statistics show that 16.3% of Americans are uninsured, and 80% of uninsured individuals in Oklahoma come from working families. Nicholson emphasizes, that by improving the access to which the uninsured may receive quality medical care, were helping to improve the overall health and welfare of our community. We are humbled to have an opportunity to serve this important population in this capacity and look forward to sharing and partnering with key constituents throughout our community to rally additional support for this crucial effort. Dr. Michael Thomas, MD is Arubahs Medical Director. Dr Thomas is a board certified general surgeon who has been practicing surgery for 15 years. He is an Associate Professor of Surgery at Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences with an active practice at OSUMC, Cancer Treatment Centers of America & Saint Francis Health Systems. Dr Thomas believes and is committed to the call of ministering to the sick, particularly those whom may not have access to health care services. About Arubah

In the coming weeks, the House will be holding a vote to require a balanced budget amendment to the U.S. Constitution for the first time in 15 years. I fully support this critical effort to balance the books in Washington and will fight every step of the way until this becomes a reality.
As I like to say,
only in Washington, D.C. is there even a debate over balancing the federal
budget. Families across Oklahoma dont have the luxury of making
that decision, as they are forced to live within their means every day.
I believe the federal government should be held to the same standard. Sincerely, |
