Balanced Budget Amendment to the U.S. Constitution
Friends,

In the coming weeks, the House will be holding a vote to require a balanced budget amendment to the U.S. Constitution for the first time in 15 years. I fully support this critical effort to balance the books in Washington and will fight every step of the way until this becomes a reality.

Today, I went to the House floor to encourage my colleagues to join me in support of this real, long-term effort to solve our nations fiscal problems. You can watch my speech by clicking here for the video.

As I like to say, only in Washington, D.C. is there even a debate over balancing the federal budget. Families across Oklahoma don’t have the luxury of making that decision, as they are forced to live within their means every day. I believe the federal government should be held to the same standard.

Sincerely,

Representative John Sullivan (11/2/2011)
