The younger 2011 CHS Baseball Cardinals will surely "Continue the Tradition" but have their work cut out for them to match the senior-laden 2010 5A State Championship team.
Freshman Conner Crutchfield (#16) tags out this baserunner to end Skiatook's half of the 2nd inning but the damage was already done as Skiatook had plated 3 runs on the play and the hitter tried to stretch his double into a triple.
Tyler Ames (#20) was on the mound for the Cardinals in the early innings with Trevor Rabbitt (#11) on first.
Tyler Sherwood (#17) singled in the first Cardinal run Tuesday in the 2nd inning.
Conner Crutchfield scored the first Collinsville run after reaching base on an error.
Tyler Sherwood (#17) in center field.
Trent Lee (#4) nearly came up with this long Skiatook hit near the wall in the 4th inning.
Tyler Ames (#20) pitched into the 4th inning.
Brant Werdel (#3) came on to pitch in the 4th.
The JV squad waited their turn for the field as the varsity squads played the first game.
Tanner Robb was one of the Cardinals scoring in the 4th to close within 4-6 after trailing 1-6.
I left as the 5th inning was beginning with concurrent soccer and track pie auction activities. The Tulsa World listed the final baseball score as 12-14. -- Ted
