This former grassy area (front yard/right of way) will eventually be part of a 4-lane wide Main Street (Highway 20). This view from 14th and Main was taken Saturday morning June 4, 2011.

Port Of Catoosa Dedicated 40 Years Ago
This June 5, 1971 photo I took of a President Richard Nixon at the Port of Catoosa Dedication represents the only face-to-face encounder I've had with a U.S. President. And of course there was a camera in my face so like most events I actually saw him through a viewfinder. This was after his speech as a car took him back over to the helicopter used to reach Catoosa.
My brother (Phil Wright) and I took the photos in this coverage of the dedication that appeared in our parent's newspaper in 1971 when the in-land port was recently completed 40 years ago. -- Ted Wright -- June 5, 2001
