Hannah's Helping Hands, Inc. — Our Mission
We are a non-profit 501(c)3 organization providing financial assistance to families with children battling cancer. Many families need help with the most basic needs for their families during this fight for their child’s life. Some must leave work for months and even years to care for their sick child and the financial loss can be devastating. Our goal is to help as many families being treated locally as possible. We help with basic needs such as gas & food cards, groceries, wigs, utility payments, prescriptions, medical co-payments, rent/housing as well as other expenses. Our referrals come from doctors, nurses and staff at a local children’s hospital in Tulsa as well as our local communities.

We would like to thank Hannah’s Helping Hands for all of the financial and emotional help they have given our family. Our son Elijah was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of leukemia called Philadelphia Chromosome Positive Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in Dec.2007. He has just recently completed chemo. and radiation treatment but continues to go to The Childrens Hospital at St Francis for blood work, breathing treatments, and checkups every two weeks. He also has a spinal tap and bone marrow aspiration every three months to check his spinal fluid and marrow for cancer cells. He will have to do this the rest of his life. We almost lost him numerous times, and over the last three years we have been in the hospital more than home. The Drs. at St. Francis Children Hospital are wonderful, and the staff are now like family to us. Praise God my boy is now doing good and receiving good reports!!!

As you can imagine a diagnosis like this affects every aspect of your life. I quit my job as a nurse and have stay with him at all times. The cost of staying at the hospital, my husband and daughter driving back and forth to see us, and the medical bills have put us in severe financial difficulty. We have borrowed money on everything we owned, was behind three house payments, and was facing foreclosure. Hannah’s Helping Hands paid numerous bills for us, saved our home, and even bought clothes and diapers for my new grandson we are raising. They went above and beyond being generous and caring. I had no idea what we were going to do and felt like just giving up. After speaking with Janet Pavey, she definitely helped me put everything in perspective. We do have so much to be thankful for. Janet is such a wonderful, strong person. She has been through so much but continues to help and worry about others. It’s amazing how much strength and compassion that lady has. Janet, Kim, and Linda each listened to me when I needed to vent my frustrations and worries and had no one to talk to, they are the BEST!! Hannah’s Helping Hands is such a wonderful organization and gift to so many. I greatly encourage everyone that has an opportunity to please help support this AMAZING organization in any way they can, it is through donations and a lot of hard work from these wonderful people that make this possible. I hate to think what would have happened to us had we not had their help. I can’t express how thankful we are, and I will never forget what they did for us . We love and appreciate you all more than you could imagine, and I know Hannah is so proud.

All of our love and gratitude,
Phillip, Robbie, Elijah, Katelyn, and Jax Kelley
