SC Freshman Work Day: Twenty years and counting

A handful of Southwestern College incoming freshmen were hard at work Wednesday morning at the home of Eric and Wanda Andreas (in Winfield, Kansas).

“I can’t tell you how much I appreciate all the hard work these kids have done,” Wanda said. “They’ve been hard at work since the moment they got here. They’re doing projects around the house that I’ve wanted to get done for a long time and just haven’t been able to.”

Owasso Downtown Envy?
Not to be confused with the story above ... these were women (apparently from Owasso) who were having some wedding group photos taken in colorful and historic Downtown Collinsville Saturday evening (Aug. 27th).
I snapped a photo as I spotted them while returning to my office from the fairgrounds thinking it might be a local group. When I asked, they said they were not from Collinsville, but "like your buildings" for photos. -- Ted
False Alarm
A group of bikers in the dining area behind Silver Dollar Cafe had a front row seat to a brief flurry of activity at RCB Bank Friday (Aug. 26th) as police cars converged from every direction after a call went out for an alarm indicating some type of problem at the bank. It turned out to be a false alarm with someone apparently inadvertently bumping an alarm button.
