2011 Jr. High
Track and Field

The Cardinals are “flying away” with awards this spring. The boys and girls track teams have competed against every 5A and 6A school in northeastern Oklahoma with outstanding results. Teams like Jenks, Broken Arrow, Owasso, Union, Claremore, Sand Springs, Sapulpa, Bixby, Bartlesville and a host of 5A teams have discovered the Cardinals are “for real”. The track coaches are extremely proud with the efforts these young Cardinals are producing.
Each meet the Jr. High teams display their new uniforms. Coaches from opposing schools marvel at the fact that as many as 120 boys and girls circle the track and can be recognized as “Collinsville Cardinals. These new uniforms were purchased with the help of the Pie Auction this past February. A big thank you goes out to the parents and community leaders whom attended the fund raiser.
The only bad news is that time is running out for the young Cardinals. April 21st is the Collinsville Jr. High Invitational. Events are schedule to begin at 1pm. Any one who would like to help with this event please contact any of the track coaches ASAP.
April 22nd is the High School Meet and events begin at 2pm.
The Metro Lakes Conference Meet for both Jr. High and High School will be hosted by the Collinsville Cardinals this April 30th. Events are scheduled to begin at 9am. At the conference meet each team is allowed only 3 contestants per event. This is somewhat different than other meets this spring. The other meets attended teams are allowed to pay additional entry fees to enter contestants. The Metro Lakes Conference allows only 3 per event.
Hope you will able to attend these meets and support our athletes.

Ted,

I didn’t know if you might want to add this to the note I sent you about Nick’s out of the parker homer from last week, but last night he did it again. He sent the ball over the left field wall at the 310 foot mark. The boys played a hard game with Nick catching for most of the game and pitching the last 2 innings, only allowing one hit.
