Patchwork
Quilters September Meeting
|
A full house of Collinsville
Patchworkers met the evening of Sept. 14, 2010, and welcomed home a favorite
member - Ann Cooper from Tennessee. In Collinsville for a family visit,
Ann shared her stack of beautiful quilts with other members, and in return,
local members also displayed their handiwork . Marie Gillespie presented
an update on the VFW quilt (currently displayed at Bank of the Lakes),
and noted that a winning ticket will be drawn during the Sept. 30 Taste
of Collinsville festivities. Proceeds from the quilt will be directed
to the VFW Roof Fund. Janice Coke gave a program on decorative threads,
plus ideas for quilt storage. The evening ended with cookies and punch,
as members gathered around Ann to catch up on the news before she headed
back to Tennessee. --Submitted by Linda Pfeffer (9/18/2010) |
