Shane Douglas scored on a 19 yard keeper on Collinsville's first 2nd half possession. The kick failed for an 18-0 score. The possession started with Will Wood being hit on a fair catch of a short kickoff by Hale.
Nathan Johnson (#89) and friends stopped this Hale runner for a loss early in the 2nd half.
Hale put together their best drive (on their first possession of the 2nd half) and got all the way down to the Collinsville 3 yard line (above) before a motion penalty and a loss turned the ball back to the Cards on downs near the 15.
Hunter West (#33) left a shoe at the 5 yard line but scored on this 29 yard run with 2:08 left in the 3rd quarter on their 2nd possession of the 2nd half starting from 15. The kick failed and the score reached 24-0.
The Hale QB would have been sacked near mid-field but he threw the ball away and was called for intentionally grounding bringing up about 4th and 30 late in the 3rd quarter.
A shirt stop (by Will Wood #44) with plenty of help coming ended this Hale play.
Darrin Turner (#16) with a 4th quarter carry.
Derek Iannapollo (#10) scored on a 29 yard keeper with 54.5 seconds left in the game for a 30-0 lead.
Freshman Zane McElroy kicked the extra point (with Derek Iannapollo holding) to put the final score at 31-0.
Jake Graham (#20) forced a fumble on the final kickoff and Jake Barton (#25) made the recovery with 21 seconds left.
The CHS students were awarded the Channel 6 OK Blitz Spirit Stick at a pep assembly Friday morning
There was tent in the NE corner of Sallee Field where many former CHS students (from the 1970s) gathered before and during the football game Friday. Many will also be gathering for more reunion activities Saturday night.
