Mid-American Nationals
Wrestling Tournament
Collinsville placed 7 wrestlers in the top 6 at the Mid-American Nationals Tournament held at Union High School Friday and Sat. Freshman Jacob Findley placed 3rd at 103 lbs. Freshman Gary Wayne Harding finished 2nd at 112 lbs while another freshman Will Steltzlen placed 3rd at 119 lbs. Sophomore 125 lber Dylan Helm finished 3rd. Sophomore Zach Abkemierer placed 5th at 135 lbs. Sr Josh Pennington finished 3rd at 145 lbs and Sr Cory Snow place 6th at 160 lbs. The Cards were in 5th place as a team going into the medal round and scored 14 pts on Sat night to maintain their lead over Tuttle, Sallisaw and Westmore. Ahead of Collinsville were Union, Allen, TX, Edmond North, and Claremore. -- Jim Riley (12/11/2010)
S-Curve Utility Relocation
Utility relocation work on the S-Curve "straightening" continues along Highway 20 into the west side of Collinsville (from the high school to about 14th Street). Bids for the actual roadway work might be ready for submittal in the 2011 spring time frame.
