Lee R. Harrold, longtime resident of Collinsville, died Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at Frances Streitel Living Center, Collinsville. Lee was 88 years of age. He was born November 24, 1922 at Oologah to Orvil J. and Dessie (Dirickson) Harrold. Lee was raised and received his education there. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in April of 1943 and received his honorable discharge on February 19, 1946. On February 13, 1948, he and Dorothy E. Pavey were united in marriage at Collinsville. Lee worked for the City of Collinsville for 28 years, first in the Water Department, later working with the police dept., and retiring from the fire department where he was the fire chief. He was a giving man, who enjoyed singing and telling others about his faith. Lee was a past member of the Masonic Lodge and the Collinsville VFW. Surviving are his
sons: Grandchildren: Great grandchildren: One sister: Lee was preceded in death by his parents, wife Dorothy in 2008, three brothers and two sisters. Graveside services with military honors will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 10, 2010 at the Ridgelawn Cemetery, Collinsville with Rev. Ed Richards officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be: Russell Harrold, Wendell Harrold, Ronald Harrold, Lee Harrold, Kevin Harrold and Danny Higginbottom. He will be laid to rest next to his wife Dorothy. In leiu of flowers memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the: Frances Streitel Activities Fund, 2300 West Broadway, Collinsville, OK 74021.
