Kylee Cole (#7) pitching against Duncan in the 2nd State game Friday Oct. 16th in Oklahoma City.
Lacie Cook backhanded this Duncan grounder and tossed to Emily Varner (#22) at 3rd base but the runner was safe. Duncan had runners at 1st and 3rd with 2 outs. Cole then got her 3rd strikeout of the 3rd inning to end the threat.
Samantha Smith (#15) singled and scored ahead of Marysa Trost as she rounded the bases after clearing the left field fence with a 2-run homer in 4th inning against Duncan. Those were the only 2 runs scored.
Sam Smith made a diving attempt on this Duncan liner to left field in the 4th inning but couldn't field it cleanly.
Smith made a throw to Kristina Shearer (#4) after the drop (left photo) and nearly picked off the runner but the ball ended up on one side of the runner and Kristina's glove on the other (in the 4th).
Cassidy Coenen (#3 running for Kylee Cole after a 5th inning single) was out at 2nd on a fielder's choice.
Following their win over Duncan the softball team stood in line for some food at the ball park before their 2nd McAlester game a few hours later.
Horses were preparing for some later races at the racetrack within sight of the softball fields Friday evening.
Kylee Cole pitching in her 3rd game of the day (under the lights) in a rematch with McAlester in the 8pm game Friday needing a win to avoid elimination.
The Collinsville dugout cheering on a Cardinal batter during the 3rd game Friday.
There were "off-setting errors" on this 5th inning play in the 2nd McAlester game with the throw getting past Randi Gilmartin but the diving runner apparently did not realize she was safe and wandered off the base and was tagged out.
Coach Rogers and Randi Gilmartin had time for a chat while the umpires had a lengthy conference in Collinsville's half of the 7th inning. Randi had just singled in Lacie Cook (who led off with a single) to put Collinsville up 1-0 with 2 outs. Randi had apparently been obstructed trying to reach 2nd base on the throw to the plate. I thought she was called safe at 2nd but was sent back to 1st after the conference.
Catcher Rachel Pitts couldn't reach the high throw (which would likely have been too late for the tag) as McAlester tied the 2nd game 1-1 with two out in the 7th inning. McAlester scored again on the next play for a 1-2 win. That eliminated Collinsville and sent McAlester into the finals with Lawton Mac (winner of the A Bracket).

The homerun score of Marysa Trost.
Ted Note: Thank you Mackenzie (& Mom) as I'm thrilled to have the photo of Marysa's homer. I was standing beyond the fence in left field and muffed my opportunity. That's the first home run I've had hit right at me and tried to get a shot of the ball going past the fense (and got photo of the grass and wall with no ball). When my camera reset for another shot I thought I was following Marysa in my small viewfinder but it turned out to be Sam Smith instead when I got to see the full sized photo later.

cvilleok.com Softball Photos For Sale
I already have two requests pending (Kylee & Rachel's moms) for photos from this season. It is always more efficient for me (and cheaper to you) if I can search my files one time only and select your player's photos. I'm willing to a do a 1-time only (this softball season only) search for your player to create a CD with all the photos they are in. But I need to know by this Friday Oct. 23rd (& receive $20 payment) so I can start building those CDs this weekend (after I finish the football page ...). This is separate from the normal end of the year deadline for CDs with photos from multi-year/multi-activity which I will work on during the spring. It is also separate from prints which I would recommend waiting until after you see what is on the CD to decide which you may want printed. -- Ted Wright noon 10/19/2009 -- wrightted@aol.com
