Vinita:
No 2003 - 2007 Vinita Games
Merin Oakley (#30) and Cody Landers (#10) forced a Vinita fumble (recovered by Collinsville) at Collinsville's 18 yard line early in the 3rd quarter.
Shane Douglas (#9) had great pass blocking on this 3rd quarter pass attempt. The pass to John Pinney drew a pass interference call and moved Collinsville out to the 33 yard line.
Merin Oakley took this Shane Douglas pass down to the 6 yard line late in the 3rd quarter. A high snap loss then an interception (after the receiver fell) killed this Cardinal scoring threat on the first play of the 4th quarter.
Patrick Moss (#65) was one of the Cardinals credited with this sack early in the 4th quarter.
Tyler Lowe (#22) got Collinsville down to the Vinita 30 on this 4th quarter pass play. Collinsville turned the ball over on downs at the 7 a few plays later.
Aaron Martinez (#60) sacked Vinita's QB at the 3 yard line. Vinits'a punt from the endzone on the next play only reached the Vinita 35 setting up Collinsville only 2nd half points.
Collinsville was still clinging to a 1-point lead with 5:23 left in the game. Steven Majike gained a yard down to the 21 (above) after a gain from the 30 to the 22 on the previous play.
The back judge spoiled my view of Joe Keith's 21 yard TD reception from Shane Douglas at 4:39 in the 4th quarter for a 13-6 lead.
Justin Caruthers (#55) and Michael Anderson (#7) were able to watch James Norris kick the final extra point as they had no one to block as Collinsville took a 14-6 lead.
Will Wood (out of view in this photo) tipped this pass causing another Vinita incompletion in the 4th quarter.
Vinita nearly scored on this pass play but the receiver couldn't keep the ball in his hands. Vinita did score 2 plays later to close to 14-12 with 1:37 left in the game.
Vinita went for a 2-point pass play in an attempt to tie the game but Jamaro Oakley (#31) got to the pass (short of the goalline) at the same time as the Vinita receiver and wrestled it away to preserve the Cardinal win.
Tulsa World 11/1/2009 Catoosa Story: Catoosa moved into a three-way tie for the 4A-3 lead with a 9-0 win at No. 9 Jay on Friday. Jay, Catoosa and Oologah are 5-1 in the district. Due to tiebreakers, Catoosa needs to beat winless Locust Grove in the finale and an Oologah loss against Collinsville to come away with the district crown.
