Collinsville Quarterback Shane Douglas (#9) drew a defender closer just before pitching to a Merin Oakley (#30) for 1st down yardage in the 1st Cardinal possession.
Tanner Robb (#35) finished the first Collinsville possession with this 34 TD yard run at 7:21 in the 1st quarter. The extra point kick attempt was blocked.
Josh Pennington (#81) with a first quarter carry which was brought back on a holding call.
Dylan Weabe (#11) scored the second Cardinal TD on this keeper at 9:08 in the 2nd quarter. Steven Majike (#36) ran in a 2 point conversion to bring the score to 14-0. The key play in the drive was a Shane Douglas keep from the Cards 26 down to Locust Grove's 15.
This long Merin Oakley run down the sideline (from midfield to inside the 5) was called back. A tipped Cardinal pass was intercepted a few plays later with about 5 minutes left in the first half.
A Collinsville 4th & 4 punt attempt resulted instead in the punter being called down due to a knee touching the ground. Locust Grove took over the ball at the Card's 20 yardline with 54 seconds left in the first half. Locust Grove scored on a 17 yard pass followed by a 3 yard pass with 33 seconds left. The extra point kick was blocked (above) with the score at 14-6.
The Collinsville band missed the game due their Branson (contest) trip spanning Friday-Sunday.
