An
update on the Roving Reptile program for CV Library's wrap up celebration of SRP.
Many thanks to all who created book marks, put articles in event guide and
WR and were sure we had lots of SRP supplies on hand for our Celebration and completion
of the SRP and the YASRP.
We had 493 people come through our gates between
10:00 and 1:45 (that is 986 divided by 2) ....we had children counting snake eggs
in a jar, counting snakes and lizards in a jar, coloring pages of reptiles, frog
stickers for all and the best of all....a meeting room full of live reptiles.
They were lined up at the door waiting their turn to walk the long row of tables
of snapping turtles, snakes, lizards and Buster the Alligator. Some snakes were
small and some were 50-60 pounds. It was a great event for children and adults.
Our place was buzzing, hissing, and snapping for two hours. Guest came
from all over Tulsa County to meet the reptiles. Roving Reptiles did a beautiful
job of explaining all the animals to the visitors.
Just wanted to thank
all involved in helping us. Besides staff we had adult and teen volunteers greeting
visitors at the door, helping with the contests and acting as host for the event.
