Kelsey
Cartwright (Miss Oklahoma) On Ellen Show |
52 Miss America contestants were shown briefly on the Ellen Show Friday Sept. 26th. Just a few were introduced and between my poor TV reception and looking through a camera viewfinder never did see Kelsey Cartwright from Collinsville. There was some early schedule confusion as the show was taped Sept 25th and shown Sept 26th. Kelsey and the other contestants are in LA filming a Miss America "reality show" which will be shown in 5 episodes sometime after Thanksgiving on TLC. -- Ted |
The
roadway (from 12th Street) to the Victory Cemetery and the new VCO Community Center
will soon be widened to 2-lanes. The fenceline has been moved on the south side
to allow for the road expansion according to Danny Stanley. The dedication
for the community center (& the hog fry) will be held Oct. 18. (Previous Coverage: Ground Breaking) |
Partial
Completion Downtown |
White parking stripes were painted on the new downtown asphalt Tuesday Sept. 23rd, 2008. The asphalt (added Sept. 15th below) only covered the gravel areas created by the sidewalk reduction. The entire Main Street pavement for several blocks will eventually be milled and repaved but ODOT did not expect to have the required asphalt this year for the final step of the streetscape project downtown. The trees in the 2-block area are expected to be planted in November. The new center turn lane will not be painted until the entire asphalt area is completed some time in 2009. |
