The new curbs were torn out Thursday ... then the rest of the sidewalks Friday. Yet another setback for the first portion of the 2 block Main Street Beautification project. Apparently a combination of water content and drainage slope problems prompted the redo which will further delay the project and cause someone to absorb a bunch of extra cost (not the city). ... more later ... -- Ted -- Thurs 5/1

Residential ice storm debris (brush) pickup continued ... with the first pass completed for the north side of town and the side south in progress when this photo was taken Thursday near the middle school ... . the final pass begins next week. (more 5/18).
Cleanup of the ice storm damaged trees in the Cty Park began May 1st by Crowder Disaster and Recovery who have been contracted by the city. They will also be collecting brush along the city right-of-ways in the next few weeks. ... (more 5/18).....
New concrete was poured Wed. & Thursday for portions of the new plaza / streetscape. ... more later ...
Partial (gapped) pavement has been poured on the south two lanes of the new Main Street east of the bridge ... as of Friday morning 5/9 ... (more 5/16)

The CHS band was out early Friday morning working on a bit of marching ... getting a jump on next fall ... but their (indoor) spring concert is Thursday May 15th following their performance at graduation ceremonies May 13th.

The CHS state track meet qualifiers have already been to state (last weekend) but the last photos I have is from their final practice here (Friday May 1st while the crowds were at the baseball game). I know that Jessica Dyer had a 4th place finish in the 400 meter dash but need to research rest. ...

As of Friday afternoon (May 9th) all of the businesses on the north side of Main (between 11th & 12th) have new sidewalks and curbs. Most had them poured, torn out and repoured as issues continued with slope and air content. The next block east (starting at Silver Dollar Cafe) willl likely see more activity next week. ...
