The
2 west bound lanes (from the new 4 lane Black Jack Creek Bridge to near the
temporary Broadway cutoff) were formed Friday May 16, 2008.
Just
a few of the sidewalks and business driveway connections on the west side of
the bridge remain to be completed. At least one paved drive now connects each
of Karen's, Brinkley's and the Sinclair to the new Main Street roadway which
is still not yet open to through traffic.
The
paving machinery had made it's way from the bridge to just past the bank (&
Mazzio's) by mid-day Friday May 16th.
Through
traffic is still diverted to Broadway via a temporary cutoff (since Nov. 14,
2007). Traffic there is still traveling on old Main Street pavement on the north
with new (whiter) 2 lanes of pavement in the south foreground.
The
new pavement today brings the new east Collinsville gateway closer to being
open for 4 lanes of traffic. I don't have any recent official estimates for
completion or partial openings of any lanes ... so won't speculate.

The
white drying powder was being sprayed onto the wet concrete (near Sonic) Friday
Much
progress has been made since these May 9th photos with the driveway gaps now
filled on the south 2 lanes that were in place that day on the east side of
the bridge.
