Join us for the final Bike 2 Work event of the season and learn more about bicycle commuting and its benefits. New and experienced commuters traveling by bike can stop by for coffee and snacks Friday, Sept. 21, from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at Tulsa’s DoubleShot Coffee Company (1730b South Boston Ave.). We hope you can attend!

This season, Tulsa area bicyclists have logged over 8,500 bicycle commuting miles (up from over 7,602 miles last year) using the tracker at www.green-traveler.org. The efforts of these bicyclists reduced carbon monoxide emissions by 870.40 pounds. The commuter who logged the most miles this season, and 5 other randomly selected tracker users, will receive prizes at the event.

Green Traveler staff members are available to help commuters plan their Bike 2 Work trip with personalized routes and other tips, including how to use the Tulsa Transit on-bus bike racks.

If you have any questions, please call INCOG at (918) 584-7526 or visit www.green-traveler.org.

Just curious if there is any local Collinsville biking effort or organization? -- Ted

Don't forget to turn your Collinsville Mazzio's receipts over to the Collinsville Band Boosters ... to help raise funds for the Collinsville HS Band.
Congratulations to the Wilson Elementary students for making the cover of the new phonebook provided by Hometown Directories.
I took the photo in November 2006 at the Veterans Days activities at Wilson. Owasso, Collinsville and Oologah residents have a different photo on the cover from their community.
I submitted the photo several months ago and was pleased to see it had been selected. -- Ted Wright
