Collinsville's 4th Grade Red Squad went to the Claremore Cheer Challenge on Dec 1st. Eight of the girls practiced very hard the week before the competition on their routines. The Thursday night before the competition Megan ended up breaking her foot so she was out of the competition. The night before they were to compete the remaining 7 girls Elizabeth, Ellen, Hannah, Mallory, Mariah, Emma, & Paige got together for about an hour to make changes to their routines. These girls went to the Cheer competition, pulled together as a team and took 1st place in their Cheer with Stunt Catagory & took 2nd place in the Cheer Rock Dance with Stunt Catagory. These girls showed the true meaning of team work!. Also, even though she had just broke her foot & was in pain Megan spent the entire day at the competition with us to cheer on her squad. We are proud of each and every one of these girls!!! Good Job!!! Love, Coach Stacy (12-18-2007)
The Collinsville Cardinal 3rd Grade Girl's Basketball Team recently played in a Skiatook Tournament and placed 2nd. They played a great game and the parents and coaches want to give them the recognition they deserve. I have attached their team photo. The team members are (from left to right): Coach Susie Vaughn, Gail Young, Megan Rice, Katie Wheeler, Mallory Vaughn, Ravyn Murphy, Brittany Kickapoo, Darci Chester and Coach Roberta Kickapoo. Not pictured is Sophie Sallee.
We are proud of each one of you girls. Continue to keep up the good work. -- Roberta Kickapoo (12-19-2007)

P.S. The girls will be playing tomorrow night (12/20/07) at Herald Elementary at 6pm against Oologah.
A truck load of replacement utility poles was making its way through the S-Curve today as the repair of northeast Oklahoma's overhead utility systems continue following the record ice storm that started 11 days ago.
The Stilwell electrical crew was back trimming a few more of my limbs this afternoon so they could raise the power line to my neighbor's house. The number of in-town customers still without power is decreasing daily as the final few are requiring repairs at the house attachment.
The CHS office aides had their gingerbread houses on display at CHS this week. Collinsville students attended class 3 days this week starting their winter break Thursday Dec. 20th. Classes will resume Thursday January 3rd, 2008. The band and chorus concerts cancelled last week due to the ice storm will not be rescheduled.

[Apologies to the folks at Herald who also had gingerbread houses I was to take photos of but forgot after the assembly Tuesday].
Most Collinsville VVEC Customers May Be Powered Today
Time To Request cvilleok.com Photos
I will begin my semi-annual search of my photo archives in mid-January to create photo CDs for individuals (typically CHS students involved in multiple activities). The cost for the current school year's photos will be $40. (Those that have already requested CDs will get the old rate of $35). The search for photos from each earlier school year would be $10/year if in addition to the current year. The only way I can afford to search these thousands of photos at these low prices is to do the search for all students at the same time. I have to do the initial search in January to help fill out the (free) senior page for each CHS 2008 grad which will go online by April. Requests must be received by Jan. 11th. The next opportunity after that will be summer 2008. A $20 deposit would be appreciated as I still have two customers that did not pay last year.
