April Fools? -- What initially appeared as a tragic trailer house fire Sunday afternoon (just east of Hwy 169 and south of 126th St. N.) turned out to be a "controlled burn" to clear the lot. At least that was the speculation of one of the many spectators in the neighborhood and at least partially confirmed by the fact that the fire truck was leaving as I arrived with the structure still engulfed in flames. There were two people with garden hoses spraying water around the site.

Softball Postponed,
Featured on “In the Saddle”

April Fools? ... or least it seemed like it when I had to mow several inches of weeds today when it was just a few weeks ago when we had several inches of sleet and ice on the same ground. The Tulsa TV weathermen were saying we just had the 2nd hottest March in Oklahoma history (behind 1910). -- Ted
While I was looking through my archives this week for "old" CHS soccer player photos (to promote the alumni game), I copied these over also for a few Collinsville sports memories (track, golf & boxing). -- Ted Wright

The March 2007 count for cvilleok.com visits set another record with 37,855 total for the month. The average visits per day was 1221.

Also wanted to repeat that this web site is not associated with the current newspaper. I use material from the 88 years that my family owned the paper with the same name (1899 to 1987) such as the sports clippings on this page, but I have nothing to do with what goes in the newspaper now (or for the past 20 years!).
I receive no salary, no news and no advertising from them. The current newspaper also has a web site but again I have nothing to with their content or revenue.

Don't be confused ... but please do compare and decide for yourself. -- Ted Wright -- April 2007
