Kevin Phillips came to bat in the 2nd inning Thursday with Collinsville already up by 13 runs in the first of two wins over McLain. The Cards advance to Regionals.
This David Chester home run in the 2nd inning upped the Cardinal runs to 17 in the first game with McLain. David is greeted by his teammates below.
Jeremy Guest started the first game against McLain.
Ricci Smith took a hard fall on this early 1st half action against Mannford Thursday. The Lady Cards lost 0-3 in this final (rain make-up) game of the season.
Collinsville goalie Emily Carothers wasn't able to reach this Mannford shot (the 2nd of 3 goals within 8 minutes) in the first half Thursday April 26th.
Myranda Jarrard headed this ball over the Mannford goalie and it bounced right at the line for the net before the goalie tracked it down. No goal was awarded.
A closer look at Myranda's header above.
The Lady Cards were not able to get a ball into the Mannford net.
I had to leave after the first half Thursday but got the following email report for the 2nd half of the girls final 2007 soccer game. -- Ted
Girls lost 3-0..although…MJ made a header shot that was not called a goal…robbed I tell ya (maybe?!)…Laura Castleberry allowed NO shots the second half..GO SENIORS!!! Both Chambers kids left the game injured, although, Kayli came back in the second half as defender instead of forward. Karra twisted an ankle, so better than a knee injury! I don’t have times for the playoffs, but I know the boys were last seed, and are seeded w/the number one ranked team Cascia Hall…lets all go out and support them next Tuesday..they’ve had an awesome season!
