City Commission / CMA Meeting Index

The Collinsville City Commission met Monday, Sept. 18th at 7pm (at the City Hall Community Room, 106 N 12th Street) for a regular meeting of the City Commission and Municipal Authority.

Ted Note: with the city clerk position vacant ... I didn't get my normal digital copy of the agenda (again). The official copy of the agenda is posted outside city hall ... and I will just sumarize below.

====== Collinsville Municipal Authority (Agenda): =====

All were present.
* Consent agenda including appropriation of $17,537 for reimbursement from bond refianace for materials and supplies for the electric line extension. -- approved

* City Manager's report -- Pam Polk reported on:


* City Attorney report


* Discussion and possible action concerning the the resignation and replacement of Trustee Brad Overholt. -- Approved "reluctantly" -- Brad has moved out of the city but will continue his business here. (See the city commission item below for replacement discussion). The Mayor and other trustees thanked Brad for his service to the city. Brad said "It had been an honor to serve". Overholt was appointed in August 2003 (filling the post vacated by Dale Gross) and then re-elected in April 2004 for 2 years and ran unopposed in April 2006 for a 4-year term.

====== Collinsville City Commission (Agenda): =====

* Consent Agenda. -- approved

* Discussion and possible action on request by Collinsville Downtown, Inc. to close Main Street October 31 for the Just Treats, No Tricks program. -- approved with the time timeline for closure to be worked with the City Manager. A tentative schedule was presented for the commissioners with merchant costume contest, costume judging for kids, treats from downtown merchants, parade from American Legion Building (9th St.) to City Plaza (12th St.) where kid's winners would be announced. The tentative time for the street closure presented was 6:15-6:45 with a 6:30 parade.

* Discussion and possible action on request by Collinsville Chamber of Commerce to close 11th Street south of Main to the alley Saturday, Oct. 14 from 10am to 4pm for a fall festival. --approved -- the Chamber is planning a merchant sidewalk sale and other activities during the day.

* Discussion and possible action concerning the the resignation and replacement of Trustee Brad Overholt. -- Approved -- Any resident of Ward 4 interesting in filling the unfinished term is requested to contact the City Manager to apply for consideration by the commission for possible appointment.
