After School Tutoring
Starting on Tuesday, Jan. 10th and Thursday, January 12th the Indian Education Program will be offering after school tutoring for Native American Middle and High School students at their building across from the middle school at 310 S. 14th St.

Tutoring will be held each Tuesday and Thursday until the end of school and will begin at 2:30 and end at 3:30 p.m. Any Native American student needing help in any subject is encouraged to come and receive help from tutor James Burr, a senior at Oral Roberts University. If students or their parents have any questions they can call Janice Fields at 371-5449.
Collinsville Sophomore Wins First Place In Cherokee Nation Art Contest

Kaitlyn Wallis, a sophomore at Collinsville High School entered a colored pencil drawing in the Cherokee Nation Art Contest. The drawing was of a feather with a drop of water dripping off of it, and ripples below. Her title of the art was "The Ripple Effect" and the description of the drawing was the feather represents Cherokee Elders, the drop of water signifies when an elder touches a young person's life and the ripples represent the generations it effects. She won the first place and was honored at a banquet in Tulsa at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. She is pictured here with Cherokee Chief Chad Smith, who presented the awards.

Cherokee Language Classes Begin

For Middle School and High School Students
Starting on Monday, January 9th and Wednesday, January 11th the Indian Education Program is offering after school Cherokee Language Classes at their building across from the middle school at 310 S. 14th St. Classes will be held 2:30-3:30 p.m. each week on Mondays and Wednesdays.

For Herald
Elementary Students

Starting on Tuesday, January 10th and Thursday, January 12th the Indian Education Program is offering after school Cherokee Language Classes in the library. Classes will be held 3:15-4:15 p.m. each week on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
