First Deadline Only Partially Met
Two official from the Oklahoma Corporation Commission (above) inspected the SK&O rail right of way in Collinsville Friday morming. They were joined by Collinsville City Manager Pam Polk and City Planner Bob Wolfram.
The view north across Main Street is little changed at the crossing but it is a bit cleaner beside the track. The secondary unused tracks have been removed except at the crossings (Main, Broadway and Walnut).
You can compare this view with the previous inspection photo (Dec 2004). The derailed car and extra tracks have been removed and the track bed has been improved. The buildings and tanks along the right of way are still a hazard and did not meet the June 2005 deadline. The crossing repair deadline is in November.
