Coverage

Both teams had scoring attempts denied at the plate. The photo on the left shows Collinsville's Tyler Whiter being tagged out at home in the 2nd inning trying to score on a David Chester double. The photo on the right shows the Berryhill runner about to be tagged out by Collinsville catcher David Chester in the 4th inning. Collinsville also had two runners thrown out at third base in their half of the 4th inning.
Shane Statum started for Collinsville and pitched the first 5 innings. Shane left trailing 2-3. Two of Berryhill's runs came on back-to-back solo homers in the 5th inning.
Collinsville was leading 2-1 when catcher Davis Chester just missed this foul popup behind the plate in the 5th inning. On the next pitch that same batter hit a solo homer over the left field fence as Tyler Whitaker ran out of room at the wall and could only watch it sail over. With the score tied 2-2, the following Berryhill batter also homered to give them a 2-3 lead.
Kyle Shults led off the 7th inning with a solo homer for the Cards to tie the score at 3-3.
Cory Flynn's pitching held Berryhill scoreless in the 6th inning. In the 7th inning Berryhill loaded the bases with 2 outs and Ricky Rimpley took over on the mound. Ricky's only pitch (below) hit the batter and walked in Berryhill's winning run.
